What Is the Coaching Direct Foundation?
When Coaching Direct was established back in 2008, it had one clear founding principle, coaching should be available to everyone.
The main purpose of coaching is to maximise performance by helping someone reach their peak potential. It involves developing leadership, creating self-discipline, building a self-belief system, creating motivation, and improving self-awareness. Coaching can support individuals at all career stages, from those new into role to leaders looking to develop themselves to lead and grow their organisations.
The Coaching Direct Foundation (CDF) was formally set up in 2019, with the aim of bringing coaching into more third sector organisations who may not have the financial capability to offer such a programme.
Our core mission is to use the resources and skills we have built up in our team since 2008 to support a wide range of leaders in the social enterprise, voluntary and charity sector and to measure the impact coaching can make.
Over the last few years, we have coaches individuals and teams from a number of Scottish voluntary organisations including; Brave, Stong & Beautiful, Mary's Meals, Circle, Myeloma UK, Dad's Rock and many others.
Our Model:
If you are successful in securing a place on the Coaching Direct Foundation, you will receive 6 free coaching sessions with a coach from our trainee or alumni base. This has a dual pronged benefit, you will experience the benefits of coaching, whilst giving our trainee coaches real-life experience of coaching to hone and refine their skills. You will be asked to provide feedback at the end of your first, third and final coaching session.
The Coaching Direct team supply the trainee coaches, run the programme and supervise the quality of the programme on a pro bono basis, and we offer around 30 free programmes per year. It is therefore recommended that applicants who wish to secure a place on the next programme apply as early as possible.
Applications are open now for January 2023! Apply for a place here.
If you are a third sector organisation interested in partnering with our Foundation please do get in touch.
