Kids, family, friends, work, house, weekends, plans, plans, plans – we all have a load of things to balance, don’t we? It’s difficult to fit everything in sometimes, leaving even the most productive of us exhausted. Many of us are still home working, or perhaps now hybrid working but even with less of a commute, there are still times we could do with an extra hour in the day.
For some, planning and organising themselves to optimise their day comes very naturally. Structure and routine are critical to this, allowing them to focus on achieving their daily goals and leaving them free to enjoy their ‘free’ time. And then there’s the rest of us. We are busy too but sometimes our focus is not entirely in the right place, adding to our workload, limiting our ability to achieve our daily goals, and leaving us exhausted too! Time is a very precious resource so using it well is important. Bateman, from the Strengths Profile, has some strategies to help hone your time optimising skills:
If you know someone who is really good at managing their busy life, have a chat with them about ow they plan their day. This might really help give you the inspiration you need to start using your time in the most effective way possible. At Coaching Direct, we work to identify strengths with individuals and teams. We tailor our approach to show your team leaders how to get the most from their people and how to have strengths-based conversations. If you want to know more about strengths and how a strengths programme could work in your organisation, contact us for more details or to obtain a copy of our brochure.
